My favourite book (for now)

 

Hello everyone, for my birthday I bought a book and since then it became my favorite the name of the book is Fables covers: The Art of James Jean, is an  artist on the beloved Vertigo series FABLES. The series, written by Bill Willingham anda drawn primarily by Mark Buckingham.

The succes of the book lies within its grand storylines and wealth of complex characters derived from fairy tales and folklore. On the fase of each book, Jean´s cover depict the epic and private struggles of the snow White, the Big Bad Wolf, Prince Charming, Jack Horner, And many others. Every detail is researched and evocative of the story whithin, a landscape of gestures and hidden symbols that gain meaning trough separate readings.

Most interesting, however, is the evolution of Jean´s imagery, craft, and intentions; from his idiosyncratic cover concepts, genre-spanning technique, and references to historical and contemporary art, the reader can se the work mature into images that are intimate and graphically sublime

Honestly, the book exceeded my expectations, I knew it was big but not so big and now I don't know where to put it, I'll have to find a space so it doesn't get damaged. Unfortunately it has some corners a little damaged by the trip
